The popular titular crank callers star in their first (and only) movie. The two foul mouthed phone pranksters (Johnny Brennan and Kamal) inadvertently make a prank call to a mobster (Alan Arkin) and have to pose as hoods. The thin plot is just an excuse for some funny phone calls (some of which had been done on their popular CD’s). Co-starring Paul Bartel, Vincent Pastore and William Hickey. The best part of the movie (for me) though was seeing James (Frankenhooker) Lorinz as Brett Weir, the Jerky’s constantly tormented childhood friend. As in Street Trash, he has a very funny bit during the end credits. He really should be in every movie ever made. Musicians Helmet, Ozzy Osbourne and Tom Jones (who sings a kick ass version of Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way?”) have cameos. Tony Danza and Emilio Estevez of all people executive produced.
