In this sequel to King Kong vs. Godzilla, Kong goes toe to toe with a giant robot double of himself created by the evil Dr. Who (no not the guy who fought the Daleks). It’s boring as fuck during the “dramatic” scenes, but it’s pretty awesome whenever Kong is kicking ass. Besides the Robo-Kong, he also fights a giant sea serpent and a goofy looking rubber lizard. The climax on top of Tokyo Tower is nifty too. The grade Z production values (obvious plane models hanging from strings, visible zippers on Kong’s costume) add to the hilarity. Inoshiro (Godzilla) Honda directed the Japanese segments while Arthur (Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!) Rankin, Jr. of all people handled the American scenes. Co-starring Rhodes Reason and Mie Hama.
