The second film of Kurt Russell’s Dexter Riley trilogy for Disney is the crown jewel of the series. This time Russell invents an invisibility formula which he uses to save Medfield College by winning the coveted science award and thwarts crook Caesar Romero from robbing a bank. The piece de resistance is when Russell becomes invisible to help Dean Higgins (Joe Flynn) win a round of golf. The extended chase finale drags a bit, but this fun kiddie flick has enough laughs and great low grade effects to merit repeat viewings. This was a favorite of mine as a kid and it still cracks me up. Russell is likable as ever, but Flynn gets the most laughs. Richard Backus and Richard Bakalyan co-star. Russell returned three years later for his final Riley flick, The Strongest Man in the World.
