I really enjoyed this compilation of exploitation and horror trailers. There are a lot of really great trailers here, and if you’re a big fan of these kinds of DVD’s you should get your money’s worth. However, there are a few things I have to point out about this disc that might give you pause, especially if you’ve bought as many of these things as I have.

Sure, Grindhouse Trailer Classics contains a number of awesome trailers. The only problem is that many of the trailers have appeared on countless other trailer compilations over the years. I don’t really mind seeing trailers for I Drink Your Blood/I Eat Your Skin, Blood Spattered Bride/I Dismember Mama, Caged Heat, The Big Doll House, Last House on the Left, Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS, Caged Virgins, Deadly Weapons, They Call Her One Eye, and I Spit on Your Grave again, but if you have any of the 42nd Street Forever or Full Moon compilations, there’s really no reason to pick this one up.

Despite that, there are some pretty cool trailers on this disc. I enjoyed seeing previews for Death Ship, The Executioner (AKA: Massacre Mafia Style), House of Whipcord, Truck Turner, Secrets of Sweet Sixteen, Cannonball, Autopsy, and Journey into the Beyond. I only wish there had been more oddball additions here and there.

If you’ve sat through as many of these things as I have, many of these trailers will be old hats. Still, you’d be kind of mad if these trailers weren’t there, so it’s kind of a double-edged sword. I mean I’ve seen the trailer for Let Me Die a Woman dozens of times, but it always makes me smile whenever I see it. And whatever quibbles I may have, I can’t really hate any compilation DVD that has trailers for Doctor Butcher M.D., Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things, Bloodsucking Freaks, and Shogun Assassin.
