A young woman must choose between a thoughtful and naïve guy who lives in a van and a selfish and aloof rock star (Richard Hell). Director Susan (Desperately Seeking Susan) Seidelman tries for a Godard-like style, but usually when a director tries for a Godard-like style, it usually turns out boring. This film is no exception. But still, it offers a good look at post punk New York City in the early 80’s and if you’re a Richard Hell fan (like me), you’ll want to check it out for one of his few acting roles. Hell put out his final album with his band, The Voidoids, Destiny Street the same year. He also starred in the much better, Blank Generation.
