In the Starship Enterprise’s ninth cinematic adventure, Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) and crew find a planet, Ba’ku that literally has the fountain of youth. When the Federation wants to take control of the planet for it’s own greedy purposes, the crew take a stand against the ugly, wrinkled, facelift obsessed aliens (led by F. Murray Abraham) trying to invade the planet. While the paper thin plot wouldn’t have cut the mustard for an hour long episode, let alone a two hour movie, the aliens and effects are cool (as is the scene where Abraham sticks Anthony Zerbe into the face stretching machine), and the performances are solid. The usual Next Generation supporting cast, Johnathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden and Marina Sirtis co-star along with Donna Murphy and Daniel Hugh (Hardcastle and McCormick!) Kelly.
