This slice of 70’s exploitation features a little bit of everything (murder, rape, severed ears, and Catholic schoolgirls in bondage) but not enough to make it worthwhile. A trio of criminals kidnap a little rich girl named Candy and bury her alive. Things go from bad to worse when Candy’s stepfather refuses to pay the ransom and the double crosses start falling like dominos. Tiffany (Kingdom of the Spiders) Bolling is good as the main kidnapper (and looks great naked) as is Susan Sennet as Candy but unfortunately, the film never fully takes off. Director Guerdon Trueblood gives us a handful of unnerving scenes, but can’t quite go the distance to make it truly unsettling. It also has a Twitch of the Death Nerve inspired ending that isn’t exactly shocking and more of a HUH?!? Trueblood also wrote Jaws 3-D.
