This better than average Italian giallo benefits from some inspired cinematography, pretty cool death scenes and a couple of neat plot twists. A woman’s husband dies suddenly in a (model) airplane crash and she inherits his million dollar life insurance policy. She’s killed off thirty minutes into the movie by a killer in black leather and the focus switches to an insurance investigator who becomes the killer’s next target. There are a couple more good twists and turns, but it’s too bad that director Sergio (Torso) Martino couldn’t maintain a consistent pace and tone. He does offer up one cool broken bottle to the eyeball scene though. Martino also directed the wonderfully titled Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key the next year.
