Director Rob Zombie returns with this sequel to his 2003 cult classic House of 1000 Corpses. This time the clan of killers (Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie) are on the lam. They’re pursued by a vengeful sheriff (William Forsythe) who turns the tables on them and gives them a taste of their own medicine. It’s more of a modern Western/Action/Revenge/Road movie than a horror film. Zombie manages to get sympathy from the killers and makes you root for them (an interesting feat). He also piles on the irritating 70’s rock to add to the creepy atmosphere. What makes the movie though is the supporting cast. It’s a B Movie fan’s wet dream. There’s Ken (Dawn of the Dead) Foree, Michael (The Hills Have Eyes) Berryman, Ginger Lynn (Vice Academy) Allen, P.J. (Halloween) Soles, Steve (Razorback) Railsback, Danny (From Dusk Till Dawn) Trejo, and pro wrestler Diamond Dallas Page just to name a few, but the best is E.G. (The voice of Babe!) Daily as a Star Wars obsessed hooker! Leslie (Police Academy) Easterbrook also does a fine job taking over for Karen Black as Mama Firefly.
