FUGITIVE RAGE (1996) ***

When crime boss Jay Richardson gets away with killing Wendy Schumacher's sister, she shoots him right in the middle of the courtroom! And that's just the first scene in this fun thriller by Fred Olen Ray the director of Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers and Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold. When in jail, the government offers Schumacher a deal, a full pardon if she kills Richardson (who miracleously survived) for good. The tough as nails, ex C.I.A chick says no, but a night in jail makes her change her tune. She agrees, but also wants a pardon for her cellmate (Shauna O'Brien, who looks like Julia Roberts a little) who killed her abusive husband. She then teams up with Fed Tim Abell to take Richardson down. There's enough sex, action and plot twists to keep most everyone happy, even if it does get a little mean spirited near the end. Ross (The Hellcats) Hagen is good as Richardson's right hand man who likes to say "bitch" a lot. "Life's a bitch, ain't it bitch?" Richardson (great as always), Abell, Hagen, as well as co-stars Toni Naples and Nikki Fritz are all Ray regulars.
